Chilean Surf Van in San Pancho, Mexico

finished chile van blog

As you can see by the license plate, these guys had driven up from Chile, presumably sampling the waves along the way.  Chile is famous for long, left-handed point waves in cold water.  San Pancho has a powerful beach/rivermouth break.  A challenging adventure for these surfers.

  1. No, never been to South America. Surfed in Mexico and the Caribbean quite a bit, but otherwise just California. We did a lot in our “younger days,” yet there’s still a lot more we should’ve done. BTW, you would love surfing that beach/rivermouth break in San Pancho. Perfect bodyboarding wave. Crunchy, fast, no need for a wetsuit.
